There is a chap here in Pittsburgh who is aiming for 1 million *miles* ... His name is Danny Chew and he organizes the famous Dirty Dozen ride that sees participants climb 12 of Pittsburgh`s steepest hills every (US) Thanksgiving Saturday. As of last April, he was at 700,000 miles, which is 1.2 million kilometres.

I raced Bmx in the 80 s when it was in it s prime. The summers were wicked growing up as a teenager it consisted of going out for slurpee s big gulps and racing our Bmx s in the city and across Canada. Bmx was intense, fun and fast the trophies were unreal, they were bigger than some of the racers. Friendships were solid and I sure miss the sport, bring it back, hopefully kids today can experience the fun that we had in the crazy 80 s

I would like to suggest to not single out KOM in this instance (and actually none of the races are KOM races - they are Cup races that the KOM program participants race in). Yes,, likely kids are more prone to too large of a bike, but while commissairing I have noticed adults with bike safety issues including but not limites to: no bar-end plugs, ill-working brakes etc. Please be careful of wording.

I've been looking for a bmx track here in Winnipeg coz i want to introduce the sport to my son. I have long been a bmx rider in my days doing bmx stunts and races in the Philippines. As of the moment, I ride mountain bike and hopefully get hold of a road bike to race this summer. Great move from MCA!
